Biography:
David A. Kapelman is a New York personal injury lawyer who represents clients injured by others’ negligence or wrongful conduct. Mr. Kapelman represents clients in cases involving all kinds of injuries, including construction accidents, lead paint poisoning, medical malpractice, birth injuries, premises liability actions including assault cases and sexual assaults, slip-and-falls, dog bites, product liability, injuries caused by defective equipment and other defective products, vehicle rollovers, car and automobile accidents, and any other personal injuries or accidents that result in serious injury or death.
Mr. Kapelman represents clients in state and federal court cases, on the trial level and in appeals. He is admitted to practice in all of the state courts of the State of New York, the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.
A native New Yorker, Mr. Kapelman is a graduate of the Bronx High School of Science and Cornell University. He received his law degree from Fordham University in 1976 and spent three-and-a-half years as a trial attorney for a federal government agency before starting his practice in 1980.
He is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York where he served as a member of the Committee on Tort Litigation from 1989 to 1992; the Bronx County Bar Association; the New York State Bar Association where he is a member of the Trial Lawyers Section; the New York County Lawyers Association; the New York State Trial Lawyers Association; and The Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
